I’ve been making quite a bit of guacamole recently. I usually use ripe avocados, chopped jalapenos, lime juice and a guacamole seasoning. You can usually find the seasoning where you find salsa and Mexican foods.

My grandmother always makes veggies for main dish. She sautes carrots, cauliflower, and chayote in olive oil and season them with a bit of soy sauce and pepper. Great with meats too.

Healthy Breakfast Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 cup broken wheat (dalia)
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 slit green chilli , chopped
1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 cup carrot cubes
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
2 tsp oil
salt

Method
Clean and wash the broken wheat thoroughly. Drain and keep aside.
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. Add the mustard seeds.
When they cackle, add the onions, green chilli and ginger and sauté till the onions turn translucent.
Add the green peas, carrots, broken wheat and salt and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add 1½ cups of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
Garnish with the coriander and serve hot.

Watermelon and honeydew iceblock :
Ingredients:
1 small watermelon
1 small honeydew, ripe and juicy
1/2 cup icing sugar

Cooking method:
1. Scoop out the flesh of the watermelon and honeydew with a melon baller.
2. Thread 3 or 4 balls alternately onto a bamboo skewer and roll in icing sugar.
3. Place on a tray lined with non-stick baking paper or foil and freeze for 1 to 2 hours. Eat frozen as a delicious real fruit iceblock.
