I couldn’t agree more to your statement. You can get most of the life-threatening diseases like cardiovascular diseases and respiratory diseases in smoking. There are over 4,000 chemicals in a single cigarette, some of which are highly poisonous.  One of every ten deaths around the world is caused by a smoking-related disease. With statistics like this, it’s hard to imagine why smoking continues to be so widespread.

My father has been a smoker all his life until he suffered from a heart attack which he said the most painful thing he endured. I saw how he suffered during the moment of the attack and I couldn’t describe the pain he was undertaking. Up to this day, he remembers what pain he would endure more if he sticks to smoking. I guess it’s a lesson learned well.

The National Institutes of Health report in the 1995 IPA (Information Please Almanac) states that 30% of all cancers are caused by smoking. This is very alarming, imagine a country having over 100 million population and the leading cause of death is cancer...I hope there will be more advertisements about the facts of smoking, so that more people will start to realize the bigger picture of it.
