I couldn’t agree more to your statement. You can get most of the life-threatening diseases like cardiovascular diseases and respiratory diseases in smoking. There are over 4,000 chemicals in a single cigarette, some of which are highly poisonous.  One of every ten deaths around the world is caused by a smoking-related disease. With statistics like this, it’s hard to imagine why smoking continues to be so widespread.

My father has been a smoker all his life until he suffered from a heart attack which he said the most painful thing he endured. I saw how he suffered during the moment of the attack and I couldn’t describe the pain he was undertaking. Up to this day, he remembers what pain he would endure more if he sticks to smoking. I guess it’s a lesson learned well.

The National Institutes of Health report in the 1995 IPA (Information Please Almanac) states that 30% of all cancers are caused by smoking. This is very alarming, imagine a country having over 100 million population and the leading cause of death is cancer...I hope there will be more advertisements about the facts of smoking, so that more people will start to realize the bigger picture of it.

Well said. Smoking is is bad for you, common sense, but when it is constantly in your lungs it weakens them. once weakened it can easily lead to lung cancer but when you get older, your lungs will be paper thin.

Smoking is responsible for several diseases, such as cancer, long-term (chronic) respiratory diseases, and heart disease, as well as premature death. Smoking can have serious effects on your life. The longer you smoke, the more damage you do to your body and your health.

Smoking can kill, but it takes a long time. You will end up with lung damage if it doesn’t kill you first. When you breathe in the smoke from the cigarette, the toxins go straight into your lungs and they make layers and layers of… ick, let’s call it. The ick will make the breathing space in your lungs smaller until it gets slightly harder for you to breathe. Note that smoking affects the liver too. But, the liver can heal itself, although it takes quite awhile.
