Level Two is a six-day intensive yoga teacher training course based on the principles of "quantum learning", or immersion-style learning. Augmenting the learning received in Level One, Level Two begins to expand and refine both yoga teaching methodologies and yoga teaching styles. Topics range from asana technique to class composition to energy anatomy and yogic philosophy. Following the same format as Level One, your days (from 8am-6pm) are fully immersed with teaching, discussion, problem-solving, brainstorming and all eight limbs of the yogic path.

» Format

Level Two format is similar to Level One, with the morning practice and afternoon teaching, theory, and discussion.  We will expand on Level One with the practice of meditation and kriyas.  Students will benefit from more hands-on teaching and leadership development.  Students design and discuss various classroom templates, classroom management, anatomy and physiology, yogic philosophy, prosperity consciousness, energy anatomy and anatomy as it relates to asana and illness or injury.

Students will be encouraged and coached to unlock their own authentic teacher and teaching style.  Personal coaching and direct feedback support the continual growth and development of each individual.  An introduction to Trinity Yoga’s Teacher Services and unique business support will develop your ability to become a successful yoga teacher.

» Personal Growth

Participants can expect to benefit in many areas of their life through the personal growth work offered in this course. Trinity Yoga endeavours to follow its mission statement with the utmost of integrity, helping individuals to reach their full potential. We create a safe and inspiring environment in which students are called to address areas in their life which may be limiting. Supported by the daily practice of yoga, meditation and self-reflection, you can expect great things.

» Class Instruction

Spring boarding from Level One, students enrolled in Level Two will be able to sink their teeth into developing their own personal style of teaching. The topics that we cover in Level Two include:

  1. Techniques - including asana, adjustments, pranayama, kriyas, koshas and meditation.

  2. Teaching Methodology - principles of demonstration, assisting and correcting, proper instruction, voice modulation, qualities of a teacher, important factors and issues of being a yoga instructor.  Students will have the opportunity to explore classroom management, structure, pacing, tone and composition.

  3. Anatomy and Physiology - furthering our study of physical anatomy, students will also be introduced to physiology and body systems.  Discussion will include various topics such as illness, injury, related health benefits and side effects of asana.  Students will be required to have an understanding of how asana relates to yoga and subtle energy anatomy (i.e. nadis, chakras, etc).

  4. Voice and Language Awareness - Trinity Yoga recognizes the importance of language choice and voice quality in the classroom. Your voice and the words you choose are your most powerful teaching tools. Students will develop direct and expressive vocabularies for teaching, learning how to teach to students, rather than teaching at them. Continual coaching and constant feedback, offers students a unique and invaluable learning experience.

  5. Philosophy/Ethics - including the Yoga Sutras, history, ethical issues, the yogic lifestyle (including gunas), diet and nutrition.  In Level Two we develop a broader understanding of the service of teaching yoga: its responsibilities, gifts and possibilities.

  6. Leadership & The Business of Yoga - Level Two provides many opportunities to expand and develop your personal leadership style.  Incorporating the ethics of the Eight-Limb Path into business and teaching, students are offered the opportunity to explore these principles in their own lives.  The mission and vision of Trinity Yoga to support and develop individuals to their full potential is introduced as we discuss our Teacher Services.

  7. Practicum - Students demonstrate their knowledge of observing and teaching, classroom composition, classroom management, sequencing, voice quality, word choice, adjustments and enhancements.

» Assessment and Certification

Certification for the completion of this 60 hour Level Two Program will be administered at the end of the seven-day training. Trinity Yoga teacher training follows the criteria and standards of The International Yoga Alliance 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Upon completion of all three levels, students are eligible for official certification.
