Deepen Your Practice – Yoga Immersion is a four day intensive yoga workshop that will immerse each student deeply within the yogic experience. This incredible 32 hour workshop extensively covers yoga asana technique (physical poses) as it looks into the internal and external alignments necessary to support a beautiful, safe, and transforming practice. Each student’s learning is deepened through studying various physical and energetic actions that are required to draw the practitioner into these life-enhancing alignments. Yogic philosophy is woven into the fabric of the teachings throughout the workshop. In addition to asana and philosophy, students will be introduced to pranayama (breathing) practices, bandhas (energy locks), meditation, mantra, and an overview of the history of yoga. Experienced instructors utilize a hands-on approach to teaching and coaching. All students receive personal coaching and instruction in enhancing their own yoga practice. In addition, participants that are currently teaching yoga will enhance their ability to perceive subtle misalignments in students and learn ways to cue and adjust students out of these misalignments into new alignments that are strong, physically freeing and safe.
**Please Note: This course is a pre-requisite for students planning to register in the Gaiatri Yoga Teacher Training program. Completion of this course does not guarantee entrance into the teacher training program. Please review the Gaiatri Level One Yoga Teacher Training pre-requisites.

1. At least six months of regular yoga practice.
» Format
We begin the Deepen Your Practice – Yoga Immersion with a general introduction, logistics, and an itinerary for the workshop. The first day we delve into the internal, energetic, and foundational actions and alignments that support and enhance the more refined alignment principles that are studied throughout the next three days. Lessons are peppered with experiential exercises, partner work and asana practices to bring the lessons home into each student’s body. Adjustments and enhancements based around these empowering alignment principles will also be introduced. As a student, come prepared to practice, learn and have fun!

Topics covered in the Deepen Your Practice – Yoga Immersion include:
*Energetic foundations - intentions, goals, and attitudes.
*Physical foundations - breath, and physical contact points with the earth.
*Bandhas – Energetic 'locks' that harness the effects of deep breath work and intentions.
*Pranayama – practices used to deepen, expand, and direct breath and energy.
*Physical and energetic flows - focal points, active and passive integrating energies, active and passive expanding energies, directions and order of energy flows.
*Refinement of physical and energetic flows in the arms and legs - spiralling actions, and circling actions.
*Refinement of physical and energetic flows in the torso - circling actions.
*Anatomy - physical anatomy relating to alignment within yoga asana.
*Adjustments and enhancements - verbal adjustments, passive physical enhancements, active physical enhancements.
*Philosophy - yogic philosophy that informs intentions, goals, and attitudes.
*Mantra – vocal practices that support positive intentions, goals, and attitudes.
*History – an overview of key historical developments in the practice, philosophy and science of yoga
» Assessment and Certification
A certificate for the completion of the 32-hour Deepen Your Practice – Yoga Immersion will be given at the end of the workshop. This workshop is a pre-requisite for entering into Gaiatri's 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. The hours from this course make up part of the 200 hours required for certification and registration with Yoga Alliance.

10 student minimum/ 30 maximum.
» Cost & Payment Options
The student fee for the week is $479.00 + GST. We accept PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, cheques and money orders (payable to Gaiatri Inc). This course has limited enrolment; therefore, a deposit of $150 is required to reserve your spot.
» Cancellation & Transfer Policy
The following policies apply to both transferring and cancelling a registration:
A deposit will hold your spot in a course up until 8 weeks prior to the course at which time full payment is required.
If full payment is not received within 8 weeks, you will have the choice of cancelling, transferring or being put on the wait list.
Any transfers or cancellations are subject to a $50 administration fee.
» Transfers
All deposits are transferable to a future course of the same level with the following considerations:
*Transfer must happen within 1 year of the original course date after which time the deposit will be lost.
*Transfers may occur up to 8 weeks prior to your course date without further penalty.
*Up to 6 weeks prior to course, a registrant will be charged 20% of their course fee, the remainder of which must be applied to another course.
*Up to 4 weeks prior to course, a registrant will be charged 30% of their course fee, the remainder of which must be applied to another course.
*Up to 2 weeks prior to course, a registrant will be charged 40% of their course fee, the remainder of which must be applied to another course.
*With 2 weeks prior to course, a registrant will be charged 50% of their course fee.
» Cancellations
Cancellations will be given based on the following policy:
*Up to 12 weeks prior to course, a cancelled registrant will receive a full refund of their deposit less a $50 administration fee.
*Up to 8 weeks prior to course, a cancelled registrant may receive 50% of their deposit (includes $50 registration fee).
*Up to 6 weeks to course, a cancelled registrant will be charged 25% of their course fees.
*Up to 4 weeks to course, a cancelled registrant will be charged 50% of their course fees.
*Up to 2 weeks to course, a cancelled registrant will be charged 75% of their course fees.
*No refunds will be provided less than 2 weeks prior to course.
Gaiatri reserves the right to re-schedule a course or workshop based on our minimum student requirement. Cancellation or re-scheduling decisions will be made on a course by course basis no later than three weeks prior to a scheduled start date. In the case where Gaiatri cancels or reschedules a course, 100% of your fees will be refunded or transferred.
